Introduction: There are now free recycling services for all types of electronics, batteries and yard waste. Companies are trying to be more environmentally friendly. Organizations and grass roots efforts are offering sensible and cost free ways to keep our planet clean and save money.
Free Electronics Recycling [new window][broken link] (NEW) Digitaltips.org provides an amazing list of free or low cost recycling programs for electonics such as computers, cell phones, batteries, cameras and printers. Costco even offers gift certificates for certain items. I was going to attempt to compile a list like this myself, but someone has already done it! (Any Country)
Local Community Recycling [new window][broken link] There is no cost to join a local freecycle group. The purpose of the freecycle network is to give items to others and receive free items from others instead of selling or throwing away the items. (US only)
