Free Internet Access [ USA and Canada ][ More Countries ]

Introduction:  Free internet access was a big upcoming thing a few years ago.  Today it is relegated to only a few providers who offer online surfing free of charge for only a trial period or a few hours per month.  On this page you will find ways to surf for free if you only need to be online a limited amount of time.  You can also discover ways to test out some internet providers for free before you decide to stick with an isp.

Get Comcast Internet [new window][broken link]  Visit this page for special current deals on Comcast Cable Internet Access like $75 cash back, a free cable modem, a free wireless router and Comcast High Speed Internet for only $19.99 a month for 6 months.

PeoplePC [new window][broken link]  Get 30 days free and then only $10.95 per month after that.  I used this company for years with fast connect times and almost no disconnects and only left for cable access.  Download in only 3 minutes and no credit card required.

Juno [new window][broken link]  Free internet access for 10 hours per month and a free email account with junk mail filtering.  Software downloads in two minutes and is compatible with popular instant messengers like AOL.  No credit card is required.

NetZero [new window][broken linkUpdate! NetZero is now the same company as Juno and offers the same 10 free hours of surfing per month and all of Juno's other features you can read directly above.

Free ISP Directory [new window][broken link] (NEW) Freedomlist is a nice directory of free internet service providers with many user reviews to read.  There are almost 300 free ISP's listed from over 50 countries.  They also list services that are not free.  (Any Country)

DotNow [new window][broken linkUpdates! Although earning $10 for a referral may help cover it, DotNow now charges a $19.95 setup fee for their "free" internet access service.  The service requires banner ads, the partial use of your computer and required completion of surveys.  Customer support is not free and I have heard complaints about this company.  The service is for Windows users in all 50 states.

Address [new window][broken linkUpdate! Provides free internet access to US and Canada with no ad bar.  Your surfing will occasionally be interrupted by a commercial break.  There is no hourly limit but you must complete monthly offers.

NoCharge [new window][broken linkUpdate! Free web access provided for people living around Seattle and now New England.  There is no ad banner and you don't even have to give them your name!  Español version is also available.

TIP:  Free ISP's no longer in business or no longer offering free internet access: FreeI, Rhinopoint, Auric, Web.com, FreeNSafe, Freewwweb, WorldShare, DialFree, AltaVista, MyPoints, iFreedom, StartFree, Tritium, 1NationOnline, uPath, FreeXDSL, UniZoom. IWin, FreeLane, 1stUp, MillionEyes, FreePPP, FreeDSL(Winfire), BlueLight, Xoasis, RedGoose, NY4Free, MetConnect and WorldSpy.  Free ISP's are good for backing up your regular ISP and trials are handy for gaining access to the Web.
